AKo to a raise (level1)
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (9 handed) converter
MP1 (t800) MP2 (t800) MP3 (t800) CO (t1825) Hero (t790) SB (t785) BB (t600) UTG (t800) UTG+1 (t800) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls t15, UTG+1 calls t15, 1 fold, MP2 calls t15, MP3 raises to t125, 1 fold, Hero raises to t235 This is a mistake isn't it? It was a 11 so I was hoping QQ or worse - i should have folded here? |

Re: AKo to a raise (level1)
I don't think QQ is gonna fold to your small reraise here so you might as well see if a flop hits you if you want to play the hand. In a $10+1 on level 1 you need to reraise your whole stack if you want an open-raiser to consider folding pre-flop, especially considering the villain's ginormous raise.
You might even consider passing AKo to that 125 raise. Just calling here for such a large percentage of your stack on a what, 37% chance you'll flop a pair, might not be a great idea. But if you want him to fold to a reraise, you gotta push it all in there. EDIT: It feels like your reraise says, "I don't mind a fold at all but here are some great pre-flop pot odds on a shining platter if you just call me." |

Re: AKo to a raise (level1)
I think folding this in the opening stages of a 10/1 is a big mistake.

Re: AKo to a raise (level1)
I push, because of the time factor. If you get called and lose, then just start up a new sng. If you get called and win, then your in good position to place. If he folds, then you stole some valuable chips. This is why I like to push here.
