Villains are loose and predictable for the most part.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter BB ($174.65) UTG ($234.65) MP ($117.7) CO ($280.86) Hero ($625.44) SB ($110.77) Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. 1 fold, MP calls $2, CO calls $2, Hero calls $2, SB (poster) completes, BB checks. Flop: ($10) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, BB bets $4, MP calls $4, CO folds, Hero calls $4, SB calls $4. Turn: ($26) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero ... whats the plan right here? take one off or bet and how much? |

the default play for me would be checking thru here. against three people betting is not gonna take it down very often, and although you have a very strong draw it would still suck to get CRed. Charging lesser hands is not a concern since theres a good chance ur behind right now, so i take the free card.

I'd bet this, but I wouldn't call the flop. I would be raising or folding on the flop, since I don't want to call down with a 7 kicker and no redraws.

20 to go sounds right.

How about $15. $20 seems a bit high with the low kicker, and A/K/Q/4/6 all being scare cards. If the $20 is called, the pot would be a little too big to make an easy bet on the river. Save the $5 and add it to your river bet if you improve.
Still learning here, so please correct me if you have a stronger argument. |

I'm for checking here, simply for the purposes of controlling the size of the pot. If you bet 2/3 or 3/4 of the pot on turn and get 1 or (gasp) 2 callers what do you do when they lead out for the pot on the river? Obviously fold...but what if its a heart?
Check behind here and any decision you will have to make on the river instantly becomes easier. |

Out of curiosity, how much would you normally raise to on that flop? It scares the crap out of me, mostly because I feel I'm investing too much building up a pot with TPWK. Is $12 good, making it $8 more for anyone to call; or something more like $20? Again, I feel like $20 is too much with that hand, so often I'd end up folding right there.

when the BB bet i was already deciding what to raise to to, the overcall by MP made me change my mind. these guys were real loose and would call a raise to 12 or maybe even as much as 20 with just about any jack or a draw. had MP not called, i would have definately raised, probably 12ish
