Default Time pay the optimum play for the most bang for the buck?

Okay I know how to play NL, but I found the rake 5 bucks every half hour for a 100NL game to be taxation without representation. Does rock like play get whittled away with a 10 dollar an hour tax( I caught no cards or they didn't hit the flop). I would have prefered rake........
