Should I buy this computer
What do you think of this rig. Ive been really wanting the 20" dell and the system seems to be OK too . Note: I have all the DVD writer CD writer drives 1 man can handle so that isnt a problem and I dont game so the video card and sound card seem trivial to me, any suggestions?

Re: Should I buy this computer
I would suggest at least getting a DVD-ROM drive, and maybe upgrading the CPU if it is cheap.

Re: Should I buy this computer
This does include the 2001FP. To the other poster who said upgrade to DVD-rom read the top where I state that i already have more dvd and cd roms then i can handle. the CD-rom that comes with it is probably going in the trash.

What's wrong w/ 3ghz? Are you going to notice a real time difference of .2 or .6 ghz? You ReALLY won't. I think it's a helluva deal with the 2001.

It looks like a good deal to me...
As far as upgrading the CPU, I don't think that'd be neccesary. It should be fine where it's at. You have plenty of RAM there too, and that's always good. Are you going to be connecting more monitors ? |

Re: Should I buy this computer
I didnt really get $450 off the monitor per say. The package comes with a 17" flat screen but when you configure you have the option of adding the 2001FP for an additional $349 which they claim is $450 off thier price of $799. I guess my other option would be to take the 17" monitor that is "free" and add a 2001FP for $500 later but I wanted to do it all in one shot and this seemed like the best deal.
To the other person asking if I was going to do more than 1 monitor. I have a 17" CRT that I may hook up now and possibly get another 2001FP in the future but thats gonna be a while. Also, I checked the processor, its $100 to get an extra .2GHz. No thanks. |
