Reasons to have children

So, I'm not looking to have children any time soon (Senior in college, going to get my masters). Thinking about it, I don't know why people have children at all...just a waste of time/money/etc. Besides the innate urge to breed, what reasons are there to have children?

I'm being serious...I'm thinking about never having children, been giving it some thought.
