Default Rakeback... New Address

So, I've put myself in a situation where I can't get rakeback without essentially, moving. I signed up for poker and bank accounts at my school address, I'm back at home now. My statements still get mailed to school but I'm not receiving them, no worries here.

I'm thinking my options here are the following:

A) closing my poker & bank accts I signed up for at school and finding a friend's house to mail to OR a post office box? ... can I open a PO Box where my address registered with the bank is a PO Box?

B) tell my parents I am a winning poker player...

--- my concern here is partypoker maybe asking me for some sort of address verification which would be impossible to do since I will receive no bills here?

this is all so that I'll be able to receive rakeback, which at this point, I certainly need.

a bunch of things:

start winning -> makes rakeback on the 20s less valuable sounding. i don't know how it is that you "need" the rakeback considering you've apparently never had it, and are a winning player?

get a cell phone -> makes you have a bill in your name at your address, and can be done very cheaply

how old are you? are you done with school?

is your bank a national chain? if so, you could easilly and quickly change your address with them and "move" back to your home address. if not, you could open an account at washington mutual or something like that that has no fees accounts, just ot have an account based in 2 places.

you, and others who post these sorts of things, should start just explaining what your situation actually is when you make the first post, instead of winding up with these posts that (not saying this is exactly what yours says) "hi, i need to do something illegal as a result of having done several illegal things in the past, help, i can't figure out what illegal thing to do next!"

so are you saying that you have poker accounts and don't have rake back on them? there are skins to party. if you have accounts on all the skins, you could close some of those accounts, wait a bit, and then create new accounts.

under no circumstances open a poker account in a name that is not your own.

Answers::

I play $20s & 30s (mostly 30s) and have been winning. I play about 500-600 SNGs a month there is no good reason not to get $200-300 back for drinking money...

I'm still in school. I don't want my parents to see any checking account statements coming home, proving to them I play lots of poker, hence the need to change the mailing address. I have a cell phone and the bill gets mailed to my house, and it would be suspicious if they stopped coming.
The reason I don't want anything coming home is because I can't have my parents knowing I have 2 checking accounts, they'll ask where all this money is coming from and why I gamble so much; I'm certain they won't accept it.
edit: i'm 21

My bank account is with Wachovia. I have no done anything illegal... I have accts on all PP skins w/o rakeback (read: IGMbonus)

So what I'm considering and did not make clear is that I would like to open a bank account with a new address; my friend has a house in Virginia and would allow me to use that as a mailing address; i currently reside in Maryland.

i'm still very confused.

about a lot of things.

first amongst them is that your parents would somehow see your checking statements and balances when they came in the mail.

ok, so i'm trying to regroup here:

you have poker accounts -> at how many of the party skins? if answer = fewer than all of them, it will be easy for you to just get an account at a different one with rakeback. editting here: you said that you have accts everywhere. like i said before, the most legitimate way of doing things is to call one or two skins, close down the accounts, and wait a minute, and open a clean account. this really isn't very difficult.

your poker accounts are attached to your bank account or something? or to your address? or what? i'm confused why you need a bank account with a new address to set up a new poker account? additionally, i don't understand how moving would aid you, i guses that they don't just attach the accounts to people's names, since there's a lot of john smiths out there, but whatever they do use is clearly pretty trivial to get around. amongst other things, i know that if you do the following:

create new party account, start playing. they will soon freeze both your accounts, and go "wtf." then they will say "which account would you like to keep" and move the money all into one account, and kill the other account. or at least that's what i know to have happened once in the past. i wouldn't personally go that route.

Poker accounts are attached to: the checking account. So if I magically have a new address and the same checking account, I think PP will be suspicious of this. That's the reasoning for a new checking account.

My parents pay for school so they feel its fair they open my credit card & other bills; this I feel is reasonable.

I have accounts at: Eurobet, can't remember the other
-these top 2 Euro & the other aren't cash accounts, but
my understanding is they won't let me close them and
reopen them with rakeback.

Intertops, Pokernow, Party, Empire

How long is standard procedure for closing an account and reopening an account with rakeback?

hm. interesting stuff.

sounds reasonable, re: parents opening all the bills and such.

thoughts: are you sure they're linked to a checking account always? can you open a new account with a neteller poker account? do you already have neteller linked to the accts at the skins? what about firepay? if you could do one of those if you haven't already linked them to your poker account, that would probably work.

other thoughts: a lot of banks now will let you sign up to have none of your statements come in the mail, and receive everything electronically. that would work as well: you could have as many checking accoutns as you want without your parents finding out til you needed to do your taxes. or you could go to a national chain right now, and open an account at your school address, that would work as well, assuming they would let you.

generally my advice tends towards the "tell your parents about the loot, loot is good" type of thing, but in specific, with people who are still in school, i find that that is not hte best of lines, as they can do things like stop paying for your schooling, which you probably can't afford on just poker income, or don't want to, or whatever.

hope i can continue to help, off to the taxman.

did you all know you can have the IRS take the money straight out of you checking account now? wtf. pwn3d.

First off, I find this thread very useful, as I'm hoping to reopen accounts with rakeback myself.

If poker accounts are only (or at least primarily) linked to the deposit method, does this mean that I could have as many party accounts as there are deposit methods without them knowing it?

ie. could I open one poker account with my bank account, another with neteller, another with firepay, etc.?

Thanks, Zipppy

Why not get a Multipoker account? You don't get as much rakeback there but at least its something until you can get a new Eurobet account. I assume you have to wait a while.

That said, I have (probably) two Eurobet acconts. The first one never got used or (the pokerroom) activated. They don't seem to mind. If they were to ask in the future I'll just say I thought their site was bugged when I tried at first and just ask them to kill off the first account. I doubt very much they would mind, considering I bring in a couple of thousand in rake each month with my new account. They tend to be pretty pragmatic, and they can see I never played a single hand with the first sportsbook account.

Better add that I have actually moved between accounts. So I have a new adress and it is legit.

Ok, none of my business, but here's my advice:

Stop lying to your parents or anyone else, with the possible exception of the government or other thieves.

Don't let your parents open your mail. (I suppose there could be some huge cultural difference between us and perhaps in your culture it is perfectly reasonable for 21 year olds to act and be treated as 12 year olds are in my culture.)
