Bad Idea To Semi-Bluff Raise On The Turn?

BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, MP1 folds, Button folds, BB calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG calls.

Hm, I would have raised the flop. You've got an awesome drawing hand, you should exploit it.

Turn semi-bluff raise is fine too.

I'd go for overcalls here everytime.

If anywhere should be a semi bluff, its a flop raise.

No, I do not think this is a good raise. Semi bluffs are good for bets, but you will not usually get anyone to fold after having bet. Hence the raise is generally not a good idea. If it were checked to you, then a bet might be okay if your were HU. A raise would probably be okay if you had an outside shot of having the best hand (like mid pair to go along with yr draws). As this hand went, just call.

I disagree with your advise. Raising the flop forces cold calls when you want callers. I already posted my reasoning for the turn.

Yeah you're probably right.

Would you raise the flop if Hero had Ax [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], or continue with the overcall line?
