Default Collection at the Bellagio

Walk into the cardroom around 2 AM, very unaware really what the exact time is. There
are two 30-60 games going with one empty seat. The floorman assigns me a seat and
I give him cash and he gets me chips. I have not played a hand yet. He brings me
chips and 20 seconds later the new dealer arrives and the floorman tells me I have
to pay despite not playing a hand yet. Needless to say I went ballistic. What is the
proper procedure and do the floor people have the discretion to change. Needless
to say I had a lengthy discussion with the shift manager when I calmed down and
I got my $6 back.

My understanding is that their policy is for you to pay for the next thirty minutes. Thus they usually want your collection even if you have just sat down and there is no list.

Uh, sorry Snakehead but this is the wrong forum for those kinds of questions. You're probably aware that 2+2 has a psychology forum. You might get a better response over there.

I see that the collection has gone up a buck. New players shouldn't have to pay--at least where I play that's the rule.

I've even seen players who play bigger get upset over a lousy six bucks. . .
