Am I giving my fish opponent too much credit for the whacked 35, 57, 79? I feel as if I should have 3 bet the river here. I'm undecided if it would have been for value or not. OTOH, villian was 46 vpip 0%PFR after only 24 hands. He was looking decidedly fishy, so the range of hands I could put him on is large. I was maybe thinking some weird OESD - the 6 was really scary in that regard, since it would make the 35's straight. OTOH, do fish raise OESD's?

Opinions on 3 betting here?

Well, you've got top set, so I think 3-betting the river is in order.

If Button is having fishy tendencies, he's not betting an OESD on both the flop and turn. He'd wait until his OESD hits to bet. I'd put him on a small set 2s or 4s.

Your read is that this guy is a fish. Just imagine the range of hands that a fish will consider to be good in this spot, then consider how many of them are NOT 35, 57, or 79. I would definitely bet for value here.

How often is Villian going to raise the flop and turn with 35, 57 or 79?

You are ahead here probably more than 95% of the time. Easy value raise. Hope he caps.

3-bet the river. Seems like he has a set. Likely 2's or 4's, but 8's is also possible.

I'm going many many bets on this river. Like 50 bets before I give him credit for a straight.
