$100 SNG...bad bad bad bubble play....you tell me why
I think this braniac play was wrong on many levels. But rather than influence you I want to know what you think. Villan had been blind stealing lots and over betting lots. I reraised him 2x with big cards JJ and 10 10 when he blind stole. He called both times. I have shown nothing but solid hands down to this point. AQs and better. Anyway here it is....
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) converter BB (t2630) UTG (t3002) Button (t5196) Hero (t2672) Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Button raises to t1000, Hero raises to t2647, 1 fold, Button calls t1647. Flop: (t5344) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Turn: (t5344) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) River: (t5344) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: t5344 Results in white below: Button has Jd Kc (two pair, kings and jacks). Hero has 8c 8s (one pair, eights). Outcome: Button wins t5344. |

Because he's going to call, you will probably only be a 55/45 favorite, and you can do better?

Re: $100 SNG...bad bad bad bubble play....you tell me why
Its only a bad play bc you really don't want a call there...not because you dont have decent hand, but bc you do not want your ITM depending on only a slight edge when 1. its against the BS and he is likely to call (he made a bad overbet but he made a good call ) 2. The stacks are 2:1:1:1 roughly, why pick him? 3. although your hand is decent, you dont want your tourney depending on it unless you have no other choice.
Lastly, it seems from your "post forward" that this guy got under your skin a bit and you had it out for him...its one thing to note how someone plays and take advantage of it, its another to make you do things which you know are -EV$$. But just my thoughts...you win the hand (you were a favorite after all) and you look like a HERO...but of course, you wouldnt've posted it... |

Re: $100 SNG...bad bad bad bubble play....you tell me why
You are getting called almost 100% here yes, so I'm not a huge fan. A raise that large usually indicates that a player has a hand they will call an allin with, but they don't mind just taking it down right away. This often includes hands like AQ-AT, etc, and it's obviously bad for your EV to get into a coin flip here |

btw if your opponent raised to 600 preflop, I think your line of moving allin is very appropriate. |

Re: $100 SNG...bad bad bad bubble play....you tell me why
Well I think you told me what I knew just wanted to hear it (or read rather) from someone else.
1. I knew he would call. DUH 2. With 1000 already in there is no way big stack is letting go for 1600 more. 3. He probably did get under my skin 4. Risking ITM on coin flip is -EV Did I miss anything? Oh yeah all I did was guarantee that he would make the money and I wouldn't. Have a nice day thanks for the $100 |

Well you didnt guarantee that he would make the money and you wouldn't. Sometimes 88 actually beats KJo, just not this time. |
