Default ruined my woodwork

I sanded down my banister and some cabinets and put stain on them, but it is too dark and I don't like the way it looks. does anyone know how to get it off? if I sand it down again will it be gone?

you pretty much can't undo it once it's seeped in.

you can resand them somewhat and lighten the color. or even bleach them but you must be careful.
when you stain you do a small waste piece first to see what happens. but by resanding you can bring them back depending on how much wood you sand off. the banister will be easy, the cabinets wont.
to stain lightly put on the stain then wipe it off to leave a samller amount to soak in.

You could try bleaching. I've seen it done, but have never done it myself. The stuff I've seen bleached in this type of situation was done by a professional but still looked mottled, and had to be stained dark again to hide it. A lot of work for very little result. I would consider paint.
