cheap notebooks

I was thinking of looking for a cheaper notebook. something to screw around online with. maybe watch a dvd on the airplane. maybe burn a dvd or two. nothing real fancy.

does anyone know of where to look online besides the obvious (dell, etc). maybe some cheap chop-shop type place that builds them themselves.
