Default BB vs. SB, post flop play - the turn card

Have I started to go overboard on this post flop play stuff?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter

Hero (t1200)
UTG (t1045)
MP (t1320)
Button (t2955)
SB (t1480)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t200) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets t100, Hero calls t100.

Turn: (t400) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets t100, Hero raises to t400, SB took a long time to decide, then folds.

Final Pot: t900

It looks like a steal attempt to me. You made a good read and you acted on it. Good for you. I would have raised the flop though. I would hate to have him catch something thing on the turn.

Very nice. I think you got a better 7 to fold here.

The flop call's debatable, though. I think I probably raise this, trusting an ace would have raised PF (this may or may not apply at Party these days but it still should.)

. .very well could have been a flush draw semi-bluff. if that were the case, then the F raise would probably have been called with two outs to come (unless it were excessive). by flat calling the F raise and reraising the T, the villan knows that he only has one more out to catch his card and is more likely to muck, no?. . ..

In this headsup situation, I would often bet an A73 flop with any 2. It's a routine bet if you have more chips than your opponent and they aren't too aggressive or good.

(Edit - Im not saying you aren't good, it would just my normal play in this situation. I would bet the flop close to 100% of the time against a regular opponent.)

. .silly me just noticed that the BB is t100. I agree that a F raise is in order. Hard to believe that an Ace would just complete PF and the follow it up by min betting the flop.

. . . Gotta represent the Ace, yo!. . .holla
