Let's see if any new guys can figure out why you didn't raise. Nice hand.

[ QUOTE ]
i'd bet flop [/ QUOTE ] It's close, but with this many people on this draw-friendly of a board I don't think a bet has enough value. Obviously I'm going to get tons of callers but with the various pair+draw hands out here I don't know that my equity will be enough that I want to risk getting raised in EP. Add in the relative popularity/possibility that QJ is out there and I'm drawing to a split at best, and I really really don't want to get raised here, and I think I'll get raised when I bet this flop a lot. I like it. Good spot to go for overcalls on the river. I'm pretty aggressive, but I'd definately follow the same route on the flop and turn. The only difference is that it's hard for me to discipline myself from not hitting that raise button on the river. I need to go for overcalls like that more often.

yeah, i guess you can treat it as a 6-7 ish outer after split discounts. it'd be stronger if both cards played on the top gutter.

Good job Wax.
Once I had a similar hand, got the overcalls with like 6 to the river, and got berated by a table coach who was calling me a wuss for not raising with the nuts. I just smiled. |

The only reason I can see for not raising is value. If you raise you probably only get one more bet in - if you call, there's the chance both players will call behind you.

actually, i'm gonna try this more often not for the obvious immediate profit, but so bad opponents can perceive me as an idiot. maybe they'll go on tilt too after they loose their sets to my straight I never raise. hidden EV!
