Default A little thought on Omaha 8:

99% of my game and advice is going to be this:

FOLD. FOLD NOW. DO NOT DRAW AT ONE eND OF THE POT.

i don't go past the flop with less than: (for example)

flush draw + nut low draw w/ counterfeit protection
set + nut low draw
nut low + nut high straight draw w/out flush draw on board
2 or 3 pair + good low draw
Really huge high(big full or better)
nut low w/ multiple counterfeit protection (A23 on 457 board)
etc....

Edit: a set of Kings. i go nuts with a set of kings (KK in hole)

too tight? it's served me well so far...

thoughts?

IMO this strategy is probably profitable if the game is very loose and you have an extreme amount of patience. Nevertheless, I think this is too tight and that you are leaving a lot of profit on the table. If you post a hand it will be easier for me to share my specific thoughts...

I think it's good advice in general.

I do think it leaves a little money on the table in some of the marginal situations

Here's a good example. You have A26Q rainbow, flop is 378 with two suits and 5 players are in the pot. work out the math here, and playing this pot is usually going to be slightly EV positive, but your guidelines would have said fold.

That strategy is way too tight for limit Omaha 8. It's excelent advice for PLO8, but for the games everyone is playing here it is way too tight.
