it sucks....but what else can you do? i hate the check call, but this might be a RARE situation where its the proper line. hopefully someone will prove me wrong now.

Why no raise on the river? I think you will be good here often enough. Admittedly there is a one card straight on the board but you are only up against the flop aggressor when it comes back to you on the river.

Im not sure what else you might hate about this hand, with your bad position there was not a lot you could do.

BB is betting into a large field and I think that is the major concern we have here. It's probably best to just check/call the turn because BB is representing a big hand and if we bet, BB will most likely raise and thin the field, which isn't all that great because we want our flush to be paid off, so overcalls are fine here.

13.50 BB for our 1 BB call and we got two pair. I call down and hope has some two pair garbage or less.. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

If we win 1 out of 14 times we'd be up half a BB. I think it's possible.

Why? If the hero thinks that 6 people will be seeing the flop (including himself) that's more than enough to call. The chance of flopping a flush draw (with the odds of flopping a flush included) are about 13.47%. The chance of making a flush by the river is 16.84% (that is, 16.84% of the time, when you pick 5 random cards, 3 will be of hero's suit). Do you think hero will make 6 BB on the pot when he hits his flush? I do.

nice post tehmatt i agree with you 100% calling that in sb isn't bad at all. I would play it the same the 4 to the str8 scares me but not enough to unload 2 pair here i check call the river, c/r leaves it open to a 3 bet which will cost me more when i am dominated.
