K4s, lost in a few places
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (8 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls. Turn: (7 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) MP1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls. River: (10 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) MP1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero folds, MP1 folds. Final Pot: 11 BB Was it worth it to try to protect my shitty middle pair with 8 people in the hand? Should I have called the river? I just couldn't imagine having him beat, even though the pot was decently big. |

Why are you playing this hand?

UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls
Not enough? |

Re: K4s, lost in a few places
I'd be concerned about the 2 to act behind me and the blinds, and having to call a raise.

Fold preflop. Postflop is fine.

[ QUOTE ]
UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls Not enough? [/ QUOTE ] I would need to be on the button to call, I don't care how many limpers. Unless it was such a loose passive game that I could be sure it wouldn't get raised behind me. |

Re: K4s, lost in a few places
Would you play this from the button? With how many limpers? What about from the cut off, with how many limpers? I was under the impression that Kxs is fine from late position, and since there were so many limpers, I decided I might be able to play it from my position. Is this that bad?

Re: K4s, lost in a few places
I'd need the button, yes. And at least 3 limpers. Maybe others play it from the CO, but I don't.

Re: K4s, lost in a few places
(this type of hand gives me alot of trouble too so I'm going to take a shot then see what everyone else says).
First I'm not even playing this unless it's clearly going to be a large pot, and that was the case here. I like the flop raise. You've got alot of outs. Any [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] two 4's and at least 2 Kings. SO I think that its a good value raise, and it thins the field. But on the turn, your [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] outs are shot. So You have 4 clean outs. Is the 8 BB in the pot enough to call ? I'd say no. The fact that you didn't even get a free card is a bad sign no me. I don't think that MP2 is on a draw but MP1 could be. I'd probably fold the turn. |
