Default hand history insight?

Because we can get hand histories doesn't that take away a fundamental aspect of playing poker? Others can see your hole cards after the fact. What am I missing here? That combined with software that is really making the rounds and all of a sudden internet poker sucks, or is stealing if you want to look at it that way. I play on Empire. Are there any sites that level the field, if that's what you want?

It already is a level playing field. It is no different than at a B&M. The hand history will only show what a player had if they called the river. Consider checking the hand history the same as asking to see your opponents cards in a B&M. The dealer will tell you NO unless your opponent called the river, otherwise the dealer will show you.
