Default Chip count help

Let's say you want to play a nicel little home game around 8 to 10 players. Likely 2/4, 4/8, 5/10 and 10/20

Hold'em, O8, Stud8, 7stud, maybe some pineapple.

How many white chips and how many red?

Think I could get away with 800 of each?

Default Re: Chip count help

are you using just 2 colors?

i would recommend using at least 3 colors (4 would be even better).

800 chips for 10 players equals 80 chips per color. If using 2 colors, those chip stacks could get huge pretty quickly.Maybe i'm missing something.

We usually start our home games with 3 colors totalling about 40/50 total chips per player and color up to a 4th color about when the first player busts out...or whenever one player's stack warrants it.

We commonly have 6/7 players and are able to play comfortably with a 500 chipset(5 colors).
