Re: AKo pairs flop, call the check-raise?
My experience is that in low stakes PL games like this a big raise after a raise preflop like that means a set.

Re: AKo pairs flop, call the check-raise?
My guess is he expects you to bet this flop, so he might not respect your bet, but it doesn't matter to him since he picked up a diamond draw and is making a strong (?) semibluff. I call here and expect to see KQ/KJd.

I agree with Mymindisgoing, seems like this is what I usually run into.

Re: AKo pairs flop, call the check-raise?
Yeah that's tough to let go with the stacks. He just called 5 more pre-flop after re-raise of his min-raise. If he was good I would expect a high PP (well maybe not that good if he only min-raised) as he wasn't priced in very good to hit a set, but his betting is typical PP set betting. Most at PP would probably bump back with AA,KK. I would probably call but not feel that great about it. There could be a chance he has top pair/draw or a lower PP.
After seeing results on this hand I would probably bump up my re-raises in a situation like this in the future to make him pay even more to flop a set. Doesn't seem like he takes stack sizes into consideration when calling a raise. |
