PF raise good size? How about the bet on the flop? I figured one of them could be checking a made flush, but I have the second nut draw and OC. Should I check here and see if I can make my flush?

Yes, checking that flop would be wise. Remember, you have two callers. The chance that someone has a Q they'll go the felt with are unreasonable. If you only had one caller, I would agree with the autobet when checked to.

Would it make you more or less likely to bet if you knew these two to be idiots? I'd read them to be much too loose, and as it turns out, the reraiser had JhTh and the all in had 7h8h...

Less likely.

If you have the best hand, you want to be playing against idiots.

If you are bluffing (or semi-bluffing, in this case), you want to be playing against thinking players.

So see what the turn brings. Of course, you're problem here is that the pot is bigger than it should be b/c of your preflop raise. You have what you think to be a good postflop situation (but it's not really) and feel the need to take a stab at the pot.

I think this entire hand is fine from the start and checking behind is far too weak on a Q43 board when you have the draw.

Among many other reasons such as probably having the best hand, when the turn is the K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and you're bet into with a call in between, you're going to be up the creek without a paddle and it's entirely your fault for checking in the first place.

I think your play is reasonable, and I would probably play it the same way. If I had the ace of hearts I may be a little more tentative, because then it's much more painful to through away the hand to a raise. However I'd still probably bet.

Hmmm... I'm always amused by the consistent difference in advice where yugo and curtains post on the same thread.

For Yugo, I play 22s and 33s. This was a 33. Just to explain my preflop, I was just figuring 3xBB plus whatever's already been limped. In early position I was trying to make sure I didn't get one of those ridiculous, 6 limpers, blind raise, 5 calls kind of hands (still suprisingly prevalent in the 33s level 1).

Nokona I think your PF raise is exactly correct. 60-75 is perfect after a limper
