EDIT: GoT also said he would go a few days ago. I think Dave is going straight there, which I will not be doing.

dave wants to go to vegas first, which makes things difficult. maybe I'll get a rental car and we'll drive there? how much are rental cars?

Probably quite a bit if you're driving to LV and back. I don't think you want to put that many miles on it. If you want to hold off on it for a day or so, I can drive.

When I lived in the Bay Area flights between Vegas/SF/LA were routinely $80-120 roundtrip.

GoT said we can drive in like 3 hours. Seems like a pretty doable drive.
