Default Soaring Eagle Casino

I would like to hear from anyone that has played at the Soaring Eagle in Mt.Pleasant, MI. I'm planning a trip at the end of the month and want to know where to stay, how much does it cost, what types of games are spread, and if they are good games.

Thanks

Mark

scalf,

Do you think they bumped up the hotel prices because it was the holiday weekend? Was there any other hotels? Did you play the Limit Hold'em tournament, and if you did what did you think?

Good Luck

Mark

for some reason, thr hotel/motel prices have been high in mt. pleasant, but i have not really value shopped either...maybe if you called card room, they might do you better, but overall, i think it is fair to say soaring iggle is cheap about comps, both main casino and poker room...lol...especially when compared to shoe in tunica where they practically throw comps atch..lol...soaring iggle is nonsmoking poker now which is real nice....but overall i generally win between 500-1000 everytime i go (been about 6 times, lost 300 once)..so i have kept going.. lol..the tourney is gr8..i finished 5th once after a huge bad beat (no such thing exists..lol) and tournies are well run imho...but well attended...gotta get there early..gl..go and win your expenses, betch do..gl

Hey Scalf I kina was looking for you at Mt.P.I like M.P.comp system{I agree it's not Tunica}They give you $2.per hour of play. They have an exc ellant stake house, and restarunt that are not over priced. The buffay ain't too bad..There is a Super/8 hotel maby5-6miles from the casino that used to give us I think $59per night there must be 10-12motels around. The last friday of the mo. is the tourney&the best games.

Thanks for the information. The Soaring Eagle is overpriced, but I expected that since it is in the middle of nowhere, but there are plenty of other hotels I'll check out for rates.

Default Few corrections about soaring eagle. . .

Just a couple of notes from a soaring eagle regular. . .

The pot-limit game is Omaha high only, with occasional rounds of holdem. They never run 4-8 anything, haven't in years. 3-6 holdem and omaha (with full kill), 6-12 holdem and omaha (with 1/2 kill), 10-20 holdem are usually spread.
Along with 2-6 stud.

On the weekends we usually get a 20-40 or 15-30 holdem going, a 2-10 stud hilo. Occasionally a 15-30 mixed hilo.

Its a great room, very friendly, probably a stronger class of locals than you'll find in most cardrooms. The potlimit is especially brutal (used to be Bob Ciaffone's stomping ground.)

Hotel prices are always insane, although I think the players rate is $69. Check out the waterlilly for your meals and avoid the slot-trolls at the buffet.

Good tournaments. Every Sunday at noon is a no-limit with $50 buy-in. Pot Limit Tournament coming. And there is a tournament at the end of the month with $15,000 guaranteed. Usually gets 220 or so players.
