Default 30+3: Top pair weak kicker facing a weak bet- Did I play it right??

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed) converter

HERO checks, UTG+1 checks.

Final Pot: t760

No reads since multi-tabling.

I read his 1/3 pot bet as a weak bet. If he had the K, he would bet more to force out the flush drawers.

I put him on mid/low pair or is doing a blocking bet for his flush draw. (blocking bet= bet on flop so he's hoping i check to him on the turn so he gets a free river card for his draw.)

I raise to pot. his call could still mean he's drawing.

The turn is a blank and i bet a little over 1/2 pot. He called. Now I have NO IDEA what he has???
If he had a set, he probably would have raised me here in which case i would fold. Maybe he has a flush draw with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and 12 outs?? (he almost has the pot odds to call if he had 12 outs.) Maybe bet bigger???

The river is a blank. I check with the intention of folding to anything more than a 1/3 pot bet.

How were my reads and plays on all streets, especially my river thoughts?

I also see small bets like that with second pair. A weak kicker that beats you could also play this way.

I would raise more on the flop to take it down right then or at least give him worse odds to chase. Your raise gives him 3.8 to 1 pot odds, while a true pot-sized raise (165) gives him 2.75 to 1 pot odds.

I wouldn't put in anymore chips if he calls the raise (unless he min bets the turn). It's still early - save your stack for a better situation.

What was your plan when you chose to complete from the SB preflop instead of muck?

Did you stick to it?
