Default Interview With an American

Got a phone interview for a job in Dublin tonight but going to be conducted by someone in the States.

Any do's or donts and what sort of typical qustions do Americans ask in interviews.

Its for a 6 month contracting IT role if that makes a difference.

Ask how many pints of ale do they allow employees to drink at lunch.

Tell him you're looking forward to "clothing optional" fridays.

One serious suggestion is to slow down your speech. Speak clearly and pay attention to the interviewer. Make sure he understands what you're saying.

Yes my speech could be a problem as my accent is quite strong and is a pretty fast one too.

He is called Ibrahim which doesnt sound like an american name to me anyway.

I hate interviews but at least not having to fly out to the States or Dublin.

I doubt the questions will be that different from what you might get anywhere for a professional job.

Why do you want to work for xyz company
What can you bring to the table
What are your biggest detractions
How many women have you slept with...you know, the basic interview questions

I dont I am a contractor supplying a service to them, so I dont want to work for them and if they dont offer me I dont really care.

What are your biggest detractions
I get bored easily and browse internet poker forums all day

How many women have you slept with
I am gay and I have had a sex change and am pregnant therefore if you dont offer me the contract I will sue you for discrimination.

Do you think I will get the contract?

Thats the main thing I wanted to know though if there were any typical questions that Americans tend to ask in interviews that would be unusual to me, sounds not.
