Table selection

Lately I've been thinking a lot about table selection and how much of my observed BB/100 can be attributed to it.

Since I'm pretty green I always scout thoroughly before I choose a table. An unmotivated bet here, a loose call there, calling to showdown with junk ... these things add up, and when there's more than 2 really hopeless players at the table I rarely finish the session with a loss.

How important is table selection at microlimits for you experienced guys? Do you just sit down or do you watch some hands first?
