Lloyd Banks
Okay, you would think that being a part of G-unit would result in a guy being highly overrated, but I don't understand this.
Obviously, this is an opinion, but Banks is much better than most of the rappers out right now. I don't know any of the numbers, and I do realize that he's got a couple videos that play on MTV, but I still feel like he's underplayed and underrated. **I know that there are other rappers even more underrated, but this thread isn't about them. Anyway, am I the only one who thinks he's that good? I mean, I see a lot of bad rap on TV, and hear it on the radio. I think Lloyd Banks is so much better than most of it. What's the deal? |

Re: Lloyd Banks
Lloyd Banks is following the typical G-Unit career map, wherein the artist puts out a few funny singles with every good punchline they've ever written and lots of the required gangster crap, then kind of falls back on the bread-and-butter 5th grade rhymebook that everyone on the radio is sharing right now.

Re: Lloyd Banks
Give it time. They can still afford to pay a few guys to sit around, smoke weed and come up with this stuff. By his third album they'll just be mix-n-matching stuff from Biggie's mix tapes and his own debut.

Re: Lloyd Banks
I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, but what are you basing this on? G-unit has only been big for a few years. How many people have already followed this formula?

GG-G-G-G-G-G-G-GG-GG---G-GG-G-GG-GG-G UNIT !!!!!
he's aight, karma was whateva, and he's got a new single out that's whateva. typical video rapper who has some commercial success with some street credibility under his belt. Personally, I think the Game is better than Banks, Young Buck, and Yayo combined. |

Re: Lloyd Banks
But you can cite CD sales to debate whether an artist is underrated or not, which is the very essence of this thread.
