Default does \"SNG tight\" = weak early on party?

so being tight early on in party sng's does it mean being weak too?? i am having a big problem with the distinguishing factor between the two early on.

i get super tight - i don't get not being weak early

I'd bet the turn. His check in position on the flop indicates weakness. And you might have just been trying to checkraise. Once you check and he bets, I guess I'd fold.

You could also bet the flop, but against weak players who'll check unless they have something, I like checking the flop and betting the turn better. That way, you're only gambling that 1 card didn't help them, instead of 3.

I wouldn't call raising AQo UTG "super tight." I fold that hand there.

Raising AQo UTG isn't very indicative of tight play.

But since you *did* raise pre-flop, this is definitely a flop that calls for a stab. Fold to enemy's return fire.

Yep. Harrington calls this a "continuation bet" (although does that term require that it be checked to you first?)

In any case, betting the flop is iffy with the paint there. There is many a fool on PP that will call your raise with crap like KJ or AJ. Still, the pot is small, so firing away with a bet representing your own jack or an overpair isn't terrible. A check is probably better, though.

In this sequence, you should bet the turn for sure. You almost certainly have the best hand. The only possible worry is he's slow playing a boat and gave you a free card to let you catch up some. So fold to any big raise.

And yes, you really should just muck this hand PF from that position. In fact, this hand is a wonderful deomonstration if exactly why that's true. Do you see why?

i fold AQ utg 100% of the time. that is being a tight player. but no, you dont have to play weak. play normal style, just play premium hands.

Do you recommend this book? I see more and more folks referring to it and I feel out of the loop.

Spentrent calls this bet an "I think my hand's better than yours" bet .

I don't like AQ under the gun either, but I'm not quite as paranoid as Doyle Brunson. Ironic, the idea of never playing AQ coming from a guy who'll raise in the dark in case he's on a streak...
