Default Another prop bet

I'm sitting around the house having some beers with friends. We flip on the TV and Fox Sports World is showing a good soccer game. We start watching.

My friend's team is up 2-0 with 15 minutes left. He says:

F: Diablo, no way your team can come back here.
D: I bet they could.
F: No way, wanna bet? It's almost impossible.
D: OK, I'll bet $20. Give me 10-1.
F: I'll give you 5-1.
D: 5-1? Almost impossible? Hahaha. OK, I'll take it.

My team comes back to win with 3 goals in the last 10 minutes.

What do you think of the fact that I saw the live broadcast the night before?

Not at all the same. One involves playing a game with rules, the other doesn't.

I did this with a friend, it was that artistic pool on espn and that Mike something guy was trying to jump a ball into his boot. He of course made a semmingly impossible shot, and I of course didn't make my friend pay. I do however believe that slight of hand/cheating whatever you want to call it has always been a part of prop betting which should explain why you should not do it with your friends since they are supposed to be able to trust you. I guess it just all depends on who you are betting with and how you feel about coaxing people out of their money. The idea of betting for profit is to be on the right side so inherintly you are looking for a sucker on the other, there are just different ways of doing it.

Seems fine to me. Your friend should have known it wasn't a live broadcast if he wanted to make the bet.

The question is, did you make him pay?

hahahahahaha I've done this exact same thing before.

They should pay you in this case.

El D what would you do if your friend then asks you "Have you seen the game before?" IYO could you lie about it and still make a standing bet?

He was clearly inferring a connection. I'm sorry I made you look bad in the other thread, but stalking me won't help.

"One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider."
