First hand post. Flopped set, too many clubs.
I've been trying to up my agression, perhaps this was the wrong time.
Paradise Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (5 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets, BB folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, SB calls. Turn: (5.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls, MP2 calls. River: (14.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 checks. Final Pot: 14.50 BB Thoughts: Flop: He may or may not have it, and if he does I have a decent draw. Turn: He didn't re-raise the flop, so I am not convinced he has it. Ok, the raise here is a strong indication that either the straight, flush or both are out there, but I have odds to call. River: Check/Fold mode. |

Thanks Rico. My first posted hand so I had no idea what to expect.

Perfectly played. The worst thing you can do on a dangerous board like this one is to give free (or cheap) cards. And you certainly have odds to call the turn 3-bet with 10 outs.

[ QUOTE ]
River: Check/Fold mode. [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't fold to a river bet automatically. If someone bets the river and it hasn't yet been overcalled by the third player in the hand, I may still call getting 15ish to 1 here. With an overcall, it becomes closer, and I'm honestly not sure if I'd throw it away or not. With the 3rd player acting behind you it makes calling the bettor in front of you maybe a bit shady but I still think you're easily good here 1 in 15. (Definately don't bet the river yourself) And well played on the rest of the streets. |
