The Badger State
GOOD
Madison, WI policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem - a 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD". The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was a bit further down the road with a sign reading "TIPS"and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!) BETTER A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in La Crosse, WI. A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs. BEST A Young woman was pulled over for speeding. As Wisconsin State Trooper Officer walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Troopers Ball. "He replied, "Wisconsin State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left. |

Re: The Badger State
WORST
Madison, WI My friend, roommate, and I walk to the liquor store. We buy a 30-pack and stuff the cans into our backpacks. As we're walking back to the dorms, a cop on the other side of the street yells at us to stop. He asks if we're 21 (we're not) and we get underage possession of alcohol tickets. Yay! He had been hiding on the second floor of a parking ramp two blocks away, and had been spying on us with binoculars. Good thing I just cleared my Party reload bonus... |

Re: The Badger State
Ahh I love WI. That story from La Crosse shocks me a bit for two reasons. One a $40 ticket?!?! Thats the cheapest speeding ticket I've ever heard of. Also, I never realized that thats what those "Speed Limit 40 Radar Enforced" signs meant.

Re: The Badger State
I don't know. I've never heard of anyone getting snagged by those signs on Losey Boulevard.
