Default what can I do?

I played in a home game with my friends the other night, $5 SNG, winner takes all. I finished fourth, but I held no more than 10 playable hands all night. The only notable hands I held were KQo, AKo, 99, KQo, and A9s. I felt like every other hand I was dealt was unplayable and I had to throw it away. The hands I did play I played well and I felt like I was reading people well, but what else I can do? Is there anyway I can turn this session into a winning session or do I just need to keep mucking until I get something worth putting money in with?
Most of my friends are decent players, but I'm definitely in the top 2 at the table and they aren;t afraid to play K7o or other very marginal hands.
