Early $5+$1 decision
I'm relatively new to SNG's (play mostly limit), so wasn't sure about this play.
Party $5+$1 2nd level 15/30 blinds SB has about 600 I have 1200 in BB Button has 850 Dealt 58o Button and SB call, I check (pot size 90) Flop is 582 SB checks, I bet 100, button calls, SB re-raises all-in Do I call? Go all-in to isolate? Or fold? |

Re: Early $5+$1 decision
There are only 3 hands that beat you at this point, 22, 55, 88. In the $5 sng's, I would think it more likely that one of them has A8, and the other an outside straight draw. I would probably call. The SB has a low stack and will go in on top pair. One of them might have an overpair (Button limp with AA, KK) also. Yeah I would definitely call.

Re: Early $5+$1 decision
I almost agree. At the 5$ you most likely have the best hand here. Heck, people push with overcards, overpair, straight draws and all other sorts of hands. In my experience sets usually try to checkraise you at this level. I'd definitely push to isolate him, no reason to just make a call.

Oops, I didn't realize the other guy would still have chips left. I push the all-in button immediately here.

Re: Early $5+$1 decision
Thanks. I pushed to isolate the all-in. I also figured a set would slow-play. Turned over a pair of 10's. River paired and I lost half my stack.
But I made the right decision. |
