For Christ's sake give it a rest dude. The problem with your marraige wasn't poker. Your ex-wife was a slut. Ergo, any problems you may have with your future wife will not be due to poker (Note: if you are a degenerate gambling loser then poker may be a symptom of deeper problems). Poker is not inherantly evil, you just need to incorporate it into your life as one of many healthy life choices. If you have a day job, then poker is just a friggin hobby. Everyone has hobbies, some people play golf, others read books, a few like to garden, others like to do yoga 6 days a week, etc, etc, etc. If you choose, it is possible to have a career, family and still fit some poker in a healthy life. For instance, I am a corporate lawyer. I spent a full day at work, got home just in time to kiss the baby good night and talk to my wife for a bit before she went to sleep. After everyone went to bed I logged some multi-tabling time at PP. My bankroll is independant of my household money. It's all good.

I'm tired and going to bed. That is all.

Hey Mizzles,

I think your ex-wife pointing to your limited poker playing as part of the reason for her cheating is totally lame. But I digress...

From the sound of these posts, I think you just need to get out there and start dating and stop worrying that your poker playing will somehow be a problem in future relationships.

There are plenty of women out there who, while they may not be poker players or gamblers, are understanding of a significant others interests/hobbies as long as it doesn't distract too much from other things in life like the affection you show them.

Good luck,

Luke

I didn't see: "She doesn't like it, I play online while she is at work, and when she comes home, to avoid dealing with her, I play live until 3:00 am."

Your wife was a psycho with control issues. She would have been pissed if you got into knitting clubs too.

If something is important to you, you might want to mention it before you get married next time.

I would also guess that your worries about how some future wife might perceive your gambling is more a reflection of your own worries than those of the population of women.

How is that for pop psychology?

The most useful aspect of this thread is learning that 6% of the posters in mid-high have wives who play 1000-2000 hilo stud.
