So I\'m using firefox but
ie popups still happen. is there a way to stop them without uninstalling ie completely?
BTW, I use adaware, spybot, norton, etc, but the popups still come. any advice? |

if you are using firefox but are still getting actual IE popups (not firefox ones) then you most likely have spyware.

don't use Norton.

Tools... Options... Web Features... Block Pop Ups.

1) use the tools others posted to get rid of spyware
2) set firefox as your default browser |

Anybody who is still having problems with these sorts of things probably hasn't installed XP Service Pack 2. Sure, it could just be spyware, but downloading SP2 is worth a shot.
I suggest you download SP2 as soon as possible if you are running on a XP system. |

SP2 helped a bit (quite a bit, actually), but the popups are still there.
