Me and my buddy have various Ethics questions...like this,.

kb: matt is it wrong to google people
kb: is that like stalking?
Matt: no
kb: one of my clients sounds cute over the phone
kb: and ive been mining the internet for 20 minutes now
kb: know her age, hometown so far

Thoughts?

Maybe if you want to hunt for a pic, that would be okay. Finding out her age and hometown quite weird though.

I'm always up for a good cyber stalking. I prefer online college address books though.

Is it Wrong? No.
Would the person be really creeped out if they found out what you were doing? Yes.

I would say it falls into stalking if this kid sits at home every night and tries to get more and more, and reviews what he already knows.

In a 20 min look up session, just checking things out. Eh, it's standard. If you're intersted, look it up.

If it's the 5th night in a row ...

I don't know what benefit looking things up could have if you have no other intentions, but that's when stalking becomes defined later.
