Another funniest thing heard at the table thread
Latish in a limit tourney, I get berated for stealing because
"Stealing is stupid." Oh my, I think I have found a new home. |

Re: Another funniest thing heard at the table thread
I once heard something equally stupid, but this was at a small club in Manhattan. A kid in a tournament, who seemed pretty good, said that "the button raise has been useless since 1970." What the eff does that even mean?

Re: Another funniest thing heard at the table thread
At a NL Hold'em game recently at the Aladdin in Las Vegas:
"I hate pocket pairs." And a good one from back in the day at the Empress Joliet: " You never know how good your hand is until the flop." |

Re: Another funniest thing heard at the table thread
I played some tourneys with a group that I met through a guy that I worked with. At the table I heard these two statments:
1) "I would rather have AK than AA, because AK is always better after the flop." 2) "I always play J2... I always have to see a flop with it for any amount of money preflop..." Needless to say, if I can weasel my way back into this game I'll have a bigger bankroll than Jesus and the pope and gigabet combined... |
