Default Cleaning poker chips, what is best way?

I have some clay chips that now have the goo on them that you see on casino chips. What is the best way to clean the poker chips?

I have the same problem. I have about 10 from the horseshoe that are white and about 10 from the bellagio that are blue. I use them to mess with while im playing online and it seems like they get crappy and sticky after a few hours of shuffling. I think there may be some wax coating or something on my computer desk rubbing off on them. I asked this question to recpoker a while back and got a bunch of 'your a retard for shuffling chips' flames (the reason why I dont post there anymore) but one person was helpful and recomended a rock tumbler. I just take a knife or something and shave the crap off and it seems to work find. Make sure you dont push too hard though because you might take a layer off the chip.

I soaked a few in a 10% bleach and water solution for a few minutes, rinsed them off and dried them with a towel, they cleaned up nicely. Try it on one to be safe.

throw them in the dish washer. Just make sure they cannot fall through through dish holders.

Try this search on Google. The first entry gives a good guide to chip cleaning. If they're real clays, don't put them in the dishwasher or in a rock tumbler, but I am guessing you maybe knew that.

"Are clay chips washable?
No they are not. You cannot put clay chips in the dish washer, clothes washer or bucket of water to soak. This will destroy your chips! If you need to clean any clay chips, it should be done one chip at a time. Use a soft fine brush (toothbrush works well) and a small amount of mild detergent in water. Use the brush to apply a small amount of cleaner to the chip, then dry at once with a soft cloth. "

I would try to remove the goo with a paper towel or something first, then clean them as above
