Why you calling on the flop, I would over bet the pot or at least make a pot size bet after that, well you brought it on yourself, let him see the turn for free. If theres to much action fold top two pair isnt good enough. But the mistake you did IMO was calling the flop and not betting

I feel the 20$ reraise and then the reraise to 80$ were both very reckless. When do you give your opponent credit for a better hand? He could very well have A7, AJo possibly, 77, KT.

I think I get to anxious at times and only see what I have and forget to put my opponent on a hand.

I bet right out on the flop, or at the very least check/raise. You've got a good hand, but not so good that you can really afford to give free cards. Given the turn action, I think it's pretty obvious that you're behind. I would probably play it about the same way as you did, but just call the villain's turn raise to $10 and definitely fold when that 7 comes on the river.

Bet the flop, get called. Bet the turn, get raised, call/fold depending on the size of the raise. Check-call/fold the river depending on the size of the bet unless you boat up.

Yeah I do that too on occasion, it's a leak to plug up.

With that being said, I would've reraised the flop, QJo is a weak hand and also one of my biggest losers. The times you hit top pair your kicker may not be good, and when you hit two pair there's always the straight possibility. I hate small broadway hands.

With you calling the flop, the check-raise to $5 was fine, but once you popped you back with a raise to $10 (a raise begging to be called and not trying to scare you off) I would've folded or called trying to catch a boat.

If it makes you feel better I made a nearly identical mistake on a nearly identical hand about two weeks ago.

I as well sometimes go into that zone of "I have two pair, I must have the best hand" I think part of it is from forcing myself to make tough calls against some of the party maniacs, but if the player is solid I have begun to get better at laying down.

Slow playing is bad mmmkay?
