Horseheads look cheap?
I have a new order in process with Pokerchips.com; the artwork is being finalized. My subject matter was driven by my wife's commments . . .
I asked her if all else were equal, colors & graphics etc., does she prefer the A-mold or the Horsehead mold? She said definitely the A-mold, because the Horsehead pattern made it look like a cheaper chip. She's not a chip connoiseur, but has some experience handling real chips from table games in casinos. She's representative of the average casual player who will use these chips in home games. I was originally leaning Horsehead, but I could go either way since the chips otherwise look and feel the same. Any comments out there on preference, or any similar type feedback chip owners have had? |

Re: Horseheads look cheap?
Out of the pokerchips.com/asm molds, I like the Horsehead mold the best. To me it is similar in its simplicity to the hat/cane mold. Plus, if I am not mistaken, they Horsehead mold was used for a few casinos a long time ago. Take my advice with a grain of salt, though, as a I have a set of chips with the horsehold mold and love them. Good luck.

Re: Horseheads look cheap?
I like the A mold the most. I like the notched look and the A symbols are very subtle. I think it's a more classic look than the horse heads. Get samples of both and then decide. I liked the roman mold best from the pictures, but didn't like the sample at all.

Re: Horseheads look cheap?
I like the A-mold the best with the HH being a very close 2nd... the Roman-o is a distant 3rd. The HH mold probably has more recognition (IMO & I'm certainly no expert)... check out Mold Designs Info

My vote is for the horsehead mold. It's always been my fave.

I like both American and HH, would have trouble deciding between the 2 if it came down to it. Don't like the Roman at all though.

I like the look of the Roman, but from what I've heard it's not as nice as the others. Looks CAN be deceiving I suppose.

Re: Horseheads look cheap?
HH for sure with the A mold a good second. I think you'd be very happy with either choice. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Re: Horseheads look cheap?
So if you were me ( and let me stress, that you aren't me in this case) You would choose the A mold. And for this reason...I live in Atlanta hence the A has some symbolism to me.) If you find something that relates to the A, pick that mold. Other wise I like the Horsehead for its generic interpretation. I mean what does a top hat and cane have to do with the casino's that use it's mold?
