Default Crazy hand, won 48.5 BB

People always post bad beats and losing hands, so I figured I'd post a fun one. I called this down because there were so many people in the pot, and I figured I was +EV pretty much the whole way. I honestly didn't expect to take the pot down with two pair.

Fold to the 3-bet preflop. Fold to two cold on the flop.

You played this like a bad calling station.

camgary has a VP$IP of 90% of a PFR% of 70%. The rest of the table has been incredibly loose in general. Even with the pot that big you fold after the flop?

Thanks for converting the hand by the way. How do I do that?

Ok, so camgary is a maniac. What about turnerashley?

A8s isn't a great hand, especially for 2 bets preflop. 7way it isn't terrible and I guess you have odds to call on the turn to hit two pair or better, but if turnerashley is reasonable, you are going to be drawing very very slim on the flop, and even when you hit your ace you'll be in bad shape a good portion of the time.

Effective odds just aren't great from start to finish in this hand, but glad you won. Happy new year!

Oh yeah -- .5/1 hands go in the microlimit forum (2/4 is the cutoff for small stakes), and you can use the converter here. Welcome to the forums, and good luck.

That was my first instinct, too, except that it was 7 players to the flop after a capped PF. I'll play A8s for 20 SBs against 7 callers.

Even with 2 to him on the flop, he had 18:1 odds to call with bottom pair/top kicker + a backdoor to chop with the nut straight. It was up to 24:1 on the second flop call.

The wonders of .50/1 Party on a holiday weekend.

Preflop I'd rather fold. Even 7-way, your effective odds aren't going to be great with A8s.

If he had said "these players are all absolute maniacs," then I might agree on the flop. But in that case, I'd 3-bet the turn and raise the river.

How many outs do you think he has here? I see a ton that will give him "second" best hand and cost him a lot.

Those two clubs on the flop are not pretty. And with all the action pre-flop AA, KK, QQ, or an other pocket pairs are very likely to be out there. Even if an A flops and he gets two pair he could very easily be behind to a set.

Yes it's a big pot. I think I would fold pre-flop, but I MIGHT call with that many players in hoping to hit a flush/draw. But on that flop you have bottom pair, tons of draws out against you, and a high likliehood of a set. Even if you spike an 8 if it is a club your most likely screwed.

The pot is big but not big enough for me to double it while drawing to a second best hand. If I happened to call preflop, I fold the flop with 2 bets to me.

(what the hell am I doing here, I'm supposed to be playing my first game of $2/$4 right now! Happy New Year guys.)
