Default Then just 9 minutes later....I love poker

Maybe you can't beat online poker after all. I mean they keep taking the worst of it heads up and keep getting there. I guess that's why so many casinos here in Las Vegas lose so much money. They always have the best of it on every table game yet gamblers keep sucking out on them too. Damn, pretty soon this is going to be a ghost town and I'll have to move.

1. You made a FToP mistake preflop by not 4betting. OK, top players do that often too, when that mistake can make the opposition make even worse mistakes on later streets. It's called disguising one's hand.

2. You made a FToP mistake on the flop by not raising. There are two broadway cards on the flop, pot is not tiny AND the opponent is in playful mode, top three reasons not to slowplay.

3. You made a FToP mistake on the turn by not raising. If you don't decloak by the turn, your preflop cloaking is wasted.

4. You made a FToP mistake on the river by not folding. And you should, FToP is 100% in effect only when you *see* opponents cards, never fold a set on the river headsup! Never!

Bottom line is: he played it like he was chewing on some afghan dogshit, but you played it like you were neutered.

I'd rather chew dogshit.

I disagree, Angelina. Why 4 bet preflop? What does that accomplish? I have seen Many limpers who re-raise have aces up front. Could have been in this spot too. A 4-bet does nothing in this spot, IMO. When this player limped and then re-raised, I figured him to have Aces, or perhaps AK. After Meowed flopped a set, the ONLY hands hes gonna get beat by are aces if a ace hits, or QT if a ace or a nine hits, or some other sort of idiot gutshot straight card. Hell, I would slow play too, with only a very few outs that would kill my hand. Why not play it slow and get as much out of this player as you can. Unless this guy has a very limited number of hands (Aces, AK, QT, AQ, or a set) and Meowed shows any strength in the hand, the other guy is likely to fold. When the ace hits the river and the guy bet, I was sure that he had aces. I probably would have called too, just to see the two outter, knowing I was beat. When he showed QT, it stings a bit more, but I see nothing wrong with Meowed having the best hand, and losing the least possible with it.

P.S. Nice personal website. Got a kick out of some of those hands. Love the list of "busted" players. Thats a riot.

You ever play live, or just on the net?

It makes no sense slowplaying really big hands past the turn. Made hands as well as drawing hands (like AKs) will give action on turn, but not neccesarily on river.

Anyway, my post was kinda tongue-in-cheek, as I specifically mentioned FToP, which is only good for observing a certain situaion for that hand only when one knows all the holecards. In practice at the tables, FToP is no good and David knows it. Or, if I may put it another way, only players with extremely good hand reading skills can use FToP concepts to their advantage.

Ok, well just calling the re-raise preflop can at times be a good play, but you horribly misplayed the hand after. Not raising the flop is certainly a mistake here with two other big cards on the flop but.... Now the turn comes and you just call!?!?!?! What are you thinking? You MUST raise here, this is a no brainer.

Not that any of it mattered as he certainly would have called but you really misplayed this hand horribly IMO.
