Default Vacation to California

I am taking my girlfriend on a 6-7 day vacation to SF and Monterey in early May between spring and summer.

I have already picked my SF hotel (Hotel Monaco is the name i think), but I cant decide which hotel I will stay at in Monterey/Carmel.

I will be there for two nights, playing golf at Pebble and Spyglass I think. I want a nice hotel preferably w a Bay view. I never vacation to cool places, so I dont mind shelling out some dough for this place.

anyone stayed in Monterey before? any tips?

thanks guys,

If price is no object, stay at either the Inn at Spanish Bay or the Pebble Beach Lodge. Bring your banker (but if you're playing Pebble, you already know this).

It's one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Enjoy.

The Monterey Marriott is nice, big, and right in the heart of the best part of town. Check out the aquarium nearby if you get a chance. And drive into Carmel to sample some of the winery spots.

In San Francisco, the neighborhood is going to look pretty sketchy as you walk west. It isn't sketchy, just a little grimy.

Sometime in April post again and get restaurant suggestions.
