$1-$2 five player max

Does anyone out there have any thoughts on $1-$2 five player max? Can you really make money at this level or will the blinds and rake inevitably get you? Should you be tight or loose (I know this depends on the other players to a large extent). Anyway any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm having difficulty staying even, let alone making a profit (probably cos I'm a dog awful player I know. But I'd still be interested in other's thoughts)

I'm finding it tough to win at this game as well. The rake does weigh heavier both because you play more hands/win more pots and because a $5 pot in a 5 max game will probably have more of your dough in it than a $5 pot in a full game thus cutting back on your profit. (I assume I'm right in considering that only the winner of the pot pays any rake. I think that's the easiest way as any other calculation would be tortuous you know saying that everyone contributed according to what they'd put in the pot or something. Though there is the paradox that a big loser - who is undoubtedly good for the house - contributes nothing to the rake.But still either way you're paying more rake...)


But there are so many other factors that make that game harder to play than a full one. It changes very quick for one and position vis-a-vis a given individual can be make or break for another. I'm sure it's right to say that it puts your blinds strategy under critical review as well. Not to mention the swings...
