Default \"nh\" (low content)

WTF?? Anyone seen a crazier call than this lately?? This was in a $55+$5 too:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) converter

BB (t1050)
UTG (t2650)
UTG+1 (t1790)
MP1 (t2380)
MP2 (t645)
CO (t1510)
Button (t1405)
Hero (t2070)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to t200, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero raises to t2070, BB calls t950 (All-In), UTG+1 folds.

Flop: (t3320) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t3320) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t3320) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t3320

Results in white below:
BB has 5d Td (flush, ace high).
Hero has Ac Ah (three of a kind, aces).
Outcome: BB wins t2300. Hero wins t1020.

I guess he thought I was bluffing.

I think you're going to get some flack in the morning for making a pretty clear bad beat post. Sorry this happened to you, but yes, I think I see crazier calls than that on a daily basis.

Regards,
Steve

it's a bad call but bad players make bad calls... good players shouldn't make bad beat posts though.

i frequently played in a live limit game with a guy that would ALWAYS call preflop, no matter how many raises, with T5...

his reasoning (which he freely shared): you can't make a straight without using one of those cards

people don't play good. it's why we make money.

Hah. Reminds me, my buddy likes to tell new players that it's better to be offsuit, since you have two chances at making a flush. I started telling them that T5 is the best hand to make a straight, since those cards are involved in every straight. Maybe this guy is one of the guys we talked to, except someone gave him the great advice that being soooted is better. He called you with the best drawing hand in poker. Seriously though, would you rather he folded? Great time to say "nh" and put him on your buddy list.

Regards,
Steve

I was in a crazier hand, don't have the history. This was in the PP 5+1 MTT a week or so ago. Blinds 10/20. Seat 1 has the button. Seats 4 and 5 limp in. I'm in seat 6 with AKo(~800T). I decide I'm happy to take the pot right here or get it heads up so I bump to 200. Seat 8(~2000T) calls. Button calls(~1900T). BB pushes with about 400. Seat 5 pushes his 500. I think I can still get the big stacks out so I push my 800. Seat 8 Pushes his 2000, and button calls!
Board comes 4 7 Q Q Q
The 2 small stacks show A 10 and A J. I have A K. Seat 8 has 3 4! Button has pocket 9's and takes the pot. The sad thing is seat 8 would have won if the button had folded. I can't decide if seat 8 is an idiot or a genius. If he had gotten the button to fold, which I would have done in his spot, he gets to try to knock 3 of us out for a little more than a third of his stack. Even if he only beats me he gets about 600 back. I'm sure he thought his push would get the other big stack out. A high variance play for sure.
