I suck at playing on the river.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
Both other players are too loose and too passive. Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $3. 2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB calls, 1 fold. Flop: (8 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB calls. Turn: (5.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB calls. River: (8.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero... Final Pot: 10.50 BB My thinking was that someone almost certainly has at least an ace. So, what line should I be taking with this river? |

Re: I suck at playing on the river.
I think a river check is fine. I can't think of too many hands that will call you here that you can beat.

Re: I suck at playing on the river.
try Kx, Jx, gutshots that hit a pair of 9s on turn, etc. A significant percentage of people will bet out their ace, so since sb didn't bet it's less likely he has one. I think this is a definite bet. Also, if both opponents call (not too unlikely) you only need to have the best hand one in three times.

You really think Jx or a pair of nines is going to call this river? C'mon.

Re: I suck at playing on the river.
I'm not saying that this is a 100% bet...
But if you haven't played on partypoker if you haven't seen a lot of players call on this river with a worse hand. |
