Default Am I stupid or is this a good move?

7-8 spades. 3 players in. Flop is 6-2-7, 2 spades. I bet $6, get raised to $12, the last guy calls, I go all-in for $100 more. Guy with $75 left calls, guy with $120 left folds. Please make fun of me if I deserve it, but give good facts why I am an idiot. If anyone likes this move, please explain why you like it. Thanks.

I like it IF you expect them to call w/ worse hands or fold enough to make it worth it (im not sure you have much fold equity here). Otherwise you get called by beter hands or coinflips.

You most probably will be left in a coin flip, which is alright considering the bit of dead money in there. The only things that could really hurt are the cases where you're drawing dead against Ax spades or where he has good redrawing odds with a flopped set.

Let's see you are behind do 66,22,77,67,62,72,89, 88, 99, 1010, jj, qq, kk, aa and about 25 spade combinations that would beat your flush. Yeah, pretty bad.

Um, he's ahead of all these 25 spade combinations, isn't he?

It's not too bad, mainly opponent dependent.

be careful overvaluing pair + flush draws. you want to use these when theres folding equity and a decent amount in the pot, where you have tons of clean outs if called. on low coordinated boards like these i dont like it as much because if someones dumb enough to do it with A7 then you lose outs, if someone has a set, youve lost outs and are down to a flush draw.

this hand works well against clowns who will go all in with AK on As7x3s board. but even then when you go all in most will put you on a set and you wont get action from AK.

When you've bet out from early position, been raised, and another player calls the raise, that sounds pretty serious to me. I wouldn't go all-in hoping they fold. The raise is one of two things: a hand that almost certainly has you beat, or a good flush draw that is hoping to see the turn and the river for one bet (the presumption being that you are afraid to bet out the turn after being raised on the flop). In either case, you are beat.

If I were confident in my analysis from above, I'd actually consider folding because I'm going to lose this hand almost 100% of the time. However, I'd likely call and see where the turn takes me.

Re-thinking this a bit . . .

The raiser is probably not raising to get free cards with more players left to act. He'd want as many players in as possible, and raising isn't how you get that done. So my guess is he is raising with an overpair, a set, or even 2 pair. The caller behind him seems likely to have a flush draw. And if that is the case, it likely beats yours.

I really think you are toast in this hand, and I'd look for a better place to put my money in.
