Default Tourneys in D.C. Area?

Anybody know of tournaments in the DC area? I remember Michael Cappelletti in Card Player talking about playing some in Maryland, but I can't remember where and how fay they are from DC.

No poker in Maryland, closest tourneys that I know about are in Atlantic city. If you hear of any in Maryland please let me know !

Until about five or six years ago, there were several charity casinos in Prince George's County, MD (near DC) which offered poker, blackjack, and roulette. When Parris Glendening became governor, he banned them (note: Glendening had been the county executive for PG County, but had done nothing during his tenure.) Three or four years ago, a bill to reinstate the charity casinos passed the legislature but was vetoed by Glendening.

Unfortunately for Maryland residents, Kathleen Townsend appears likely to be our next governor. She is publicly anti-gambling.

To sum up, there are no legal poker games in Maryland. There still exists an underground circuit of home games (with exorbitant rakes), but I would advise extreme caution there.
