I know first post, come up with something better, but I really don't understand my question. Been playing mostly short handed at pacific poker for a while now, basically all limits. this question pertains to every limit below 30/60 as i havent noticed it there, and i don't play micros, so i have no idea. but can anyone tell me why 99.9% of the people post utg short handed. or post 2 utg with 6 or so players. or any other nonsense like this. i mean it, every time a new person joins a game they automatically post. in all my hands, i saw one person sit out. it makes me think its all bots (not really) but seriously who are these people. if you don't believe me just look yourself. watch a table, whoever sits down posts no matter what or where they are. weird. pacific is a graveyard anyway for the most part, but just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

those are people that are not good at poker and don't have the patience to wait five minutes for the BB, most likely this carries over to their poker and they are too loose...

yea, i understand that. i know what type they are, but i just can't believe that every single one of them is. it just boggles my mind that EVERY person does it. truly uncanny. fish at every online site and i know party is full of them, i just cant help laughing when every single new person posts utg in a 5 handed game or something. sorry for the worthless post, i just find it amusing

I played there to clear a bonus and noticed the same thing. However, I did see some people occasionaly waiting. My guess is this is just a reflection on how bad the players are on Pacific. They are really bad.

It's funny to look at the preflop percentages for all the tables. At most limits, it keeps getting lower and lower. But on Pacifc, it stays relatively the same. It's not unusual to see a preflop percentage of 65% on their 5/10 tables.

Pacific artificially inflates their pre-flop %'s by counting hands for a very long time. For example, if two people played heads-up for a half an hour, then the tables filled up and played 10-handed for an hour, the flop % would still include the HU play, and likely be up around 50-60%.

that explains a lot... ive always wondered where those crazy 60-70% preflop figures at a full table were coming from. is this a theory based on your own observation or did you read something somewhere?

Be that as it may I routinely see 8 to a flop in my O8 hands that I play. As for the original question, this has to do with all of the players coming in from the casino cause hey poker might be fun to try.

it happens in the 15-30 full games, but not most of the time. another thing you see is people missing a blind then posting dead money behind the button often. I think that's probably because pacific is more prone to disconnects, and when you were just in the game it's hard to sit and wait a round. and as far as the short handed tables go--don't you know that you're already supposed to play every hand shorthanded?
