UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(6 players)</font>
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, MP3 checks, CO checks, Button checks.

Do I call this river raise? Villian was loose/passive.

If he's truly loose/passive, his river raise means he can beat a pair of eights. I hate paying off bad players, so I think your fold is good.

I probably prefer the line of bet the flop, bet the turn, check/call the river.

Why didn't you bet the flop? Were you trying for a check-raise?
